The branch is one of around 50 branches of the New Zealand Deerstalkers Association, founded in 1937. As NZDA puts it: nationally, they're the voice of New Zealand's hunters; locally, we're your hunting club.

Being part of NZDA brings you the $10 million public liability insurance (including a $1 million rural-fires extension), the Code of Ethics and Field Guidelines that guide how members hunt, the HUNTS scheme, the Hunting & Wildlife magazine, and a national voice advocating for hunting access and sensible firearms law. Your branch membership and your NZDA membership come together.
